What we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and how to have it changed or deleted. In plain English.

no tracking cookies never sold

Last updated 28 September 2026

The short version

  • We collect what you send us, what our server needs to show you this site, and business contact details that businesses publish themselves.
  • No tracking cookies, no analytics and no advertising.
  • We never sell your data or pass it on for anyone else’s marketing.
  • You can see, correct or delete what we hold, and stop our emails, whenever you like: email customerservices.pixeloyd@gmail.com.

01Who we are

Pixeloyd Studio Ltd. (“Pixeloyd”, “we”, “us”) designs, builds, hosts and looks after websites for small businesses. We’re based in Swindon, United Kingdom.

We decide how the personal data on this page is used, which makes us its controller under UK data protection law: the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

For anything on this page, email customerservices.pixeloyd@gmail.com or call +44 7520 650102.

02What we collect and why

We only collect what we need for each of the reasons below. The law asks us to name a “lawful basis” for each one, so we have.

When you ask about a plan

What
Your first and last name, your email address, and what you tell us about your business and what you need, from the “Start a plan” form.
Why
To reply, answer your questions and prepare a proposal. We also email you to confirm we’ve received it.
Basis
Taking steps you’ve asked for before entering into a contract with us.

When you join our newsletter

What
Your email address.
Why
To send you our newsletter.
Basis
Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying to a newsletter or emailing us.

When you email or call us

What
Your contact details and whatever you choose to tell us.
Why
To reply, and to provide our service if you become a client.
Basis
Our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or our contract with you.

When you use a tool on this site that emails you a result

What
The email address you enter and the details of your request.
Why
To run the request and send you the result.
Basis
Our legitimate interest in providing the tool you asked to use.

When you visit the site

What
Your IP address, your browser and device type, and which pages you ask for and when. Our server receives these with every request.
Why
To deliver the pages, keep the site working and protect it from abuse. For example, our forms count requests from each IP address for a short time, to stop spam and repeated wrong passwords.
Basis
Our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

03Emails we send to businesses

We tell local businesses about our service by email. To find them, we search public business listings on Google Maps and visit the businesses’ own websites. From those we note the business’s name, website and phone number, and the email address the business publishes there.

That is mostly information about businesses, but a business email address can identify a person, especially for a sole trader, so we treat it as personal data.

Why: to offer our service to businesses it may suit. Basis: our legitimate interest in promoting our business to other businesses.

Every email tells you how to stop them. Use the unsubscribe link or reply “unsubscribe” and we won’t email you again. We keep your address only to make sure of that.

04Cookies and your browser

The public pages of this site don’t set cookies: no tracking, no analytics, no advertising, which is why there is no cookie banner. Staff-only areas use the cookies strictly needed to keep our team signed in.

Some of our own tools save what you typed in your browser’s local storage, so you don’t have to type it again: for example, the name and phone number entered on our email tool. It stays on your device, we can’t see it, and you can clear it in your browser’s settings.

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and part of their code from esm.sh. As with any website your browser fetches files from, those services receive your IP address and browser details when it does.

05Who else handles it

We don’t sell personal data, and we don’t share it for anyone else’s marketing. A few service providers handle it for us, only as we instruct:

  • Fasthosts hosts our server, in the UK.
  • Google provides our email (Gmail), which carries enquiries, confirmations and our emails to businesses; the Google Maps listings we search; and our fonts.
  • esm.sh serves part of the code our pages run.

Google may process data outside the UK, including in the United States, under safeguards UK law recognises, such as the UK–US “data bridge” and standard contractual clauses. esm.sh is an independent service your browser contacts directly, wherever its servers are.

We’ll also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights.

06How long we keep it

  • Enquiries: while we’re talking with you. If you become a client, for as long as we work together and then for six years, the time UK law requires us to keep business and tax records. If you don’t, we delete them once we no longer need them to follow up.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Emails to businesses: a record of what we sent, to whom and when, so we stay within our email provider’s sending limits and don’t contact you twice. If you ask us to stop, we keep your address only to make sure we don’t email you again.
  • Visits: the counters that protect our forms expire by themselves within an hour. Server logs are kept only as long as we need them to run and secure the site.
  • Your browser’s local storage: until you clear it.

07Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct it if it’s wrong or incomplete;
  • delete it;
  • limit how we use it;
  • stop using it where we rely on our legitimate interests, and stop direct marketing at any time, no questions asked;
  • give it to you, or to another organisation, in a portable format, where we hold it because of your consent or a contract;
  • where we rely on your consent, withdraw it at any time.

To do any of these, email customerservices.pixeloyd@gmail.com. It’s free, and we’ll reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm who you are first.

We don’t make any decision about you by automated means alone that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

08Keeping it safe

This site is only served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The tools on it that can send email need a key, and repeated wrong attempts are locked out. Access to our systems and our mailbox is limited to the people who run Pixeloyd.

Our site and service are for businesses, not for children.

09Changes to this policy

When what we do with personal data changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects you significantly, we’ll tell you directly where we can.
